Barn Owl (Tyto alba)
Status at Longham Lakes
Probably once bred, but not recently. Recent records have been few.
1. 1 on 14th July 2005 (Trevor Thorpe).
2. A pair apparently present in spring 2006.
3. One was seen several times south of the Stour (and therefore visible from the site) in mid-autumn 2014 (“Dusty”).
4. 1 reported by a walker over Hampreston Fields on 24th February 2015 (per Lorne Bissell).
