Three Tundra Bean Geese have dropped into Longham Lakes this afternoon – or at least into the flooded Hampreston Fields. They can be seen from the western path down Longham Reservoir North. They are the first for the site, found by George Green. Apologies for the picture; the birds were about half a mile away. The shape, with short neck and conical bill, suggests Tundra Bean Geese to me, but at least one bird seemed to have quite a large patch of orange on the bill.
